How to Edit a Page
Editing a page in ScrewTurn Wiki is easy and requires only a few steps. Here's how to do it:
Prerequisites
First, you must have an account. You cannot edit a page without having registered that account. You can register a new one or log in with your existing one
here. Please note that entry is not granted automatically. We expect to know something about you before we allow anyone in.
Step 1: Navigate to the Page
Use the Search box or browse through the wiki structure to find the page you want to edit.
Step 2: Click the "Edit" Tab
Once on the page, click the Edit tab at the top of the screen.
If you're not logged in, you may need to log in first. Some wikis allow anonymous editing; others may not.
Step 3: Make Your Changes
You'll see a text area with the page’s current content.
Use Wiki Markup to format the text. Here are some common examples:
Markup | Result |
---|
'''bold''' | bold |
''italic'' | italic |
== Title == | Title |
[Page Name] | Creates a link to another page |
[imageright|Sample Picture Caption|{UP(Help.WikiMarkup)}SamplePicture-Small.jpg|{UP(Help.WikiMarkup)}SamplePicture.jpg] | Displays an image with text to the right of that image. Note there's also an imageleft tag. |
For a full list of syntax, see our
Wiki Markup page.
Step 4: Preview Your Changes (Optional)
Click the Preview button to see how your changes will look before saving.
Step 5: Save the Page
Enter a summary of what you changed (optional, but helpful).
Click Save to publish your changes.
Notes
If you make a mistake, don’t worry — you can always revert to an earlier version of the page using the History tab.
Some pages may be protected from editing and require special permissions.
